Attempting to be Vegan in Tennessee

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is the biggest tourist town I have been to. It is reminiscent of New Jersey boardwalks minus the actual boardwalk. This is where I had grits for the first time and the fact that I had them in the south probably made them taste better than they actually were. After my southern meal I went to Great Smokey Mountain National Park which was beautiful but terribly crowded. My first National Park experience didn't prepare me for the crowds but the fact that Smokey Mountain is the most visited National Park should have. That night I had dinner at The Tomato Head in Knoxville. Everything I ordered was very satisfying including the black bean hummus appetizer, vegan sandwich, and a vegan cupcake. I was surprised by how much I liked Knoxville considering I arrived there in tears.
