Sparky and I went to NYC on a mission to see Robert Mapplethorpe's work and to see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Picasso was featured at the Guggenheim. I enjoyed the black and white exhibit and found that I liked his work that looked more advanced than what a child would bring home from school. Art that is surreal appeals to me. We came across the Robert Mapplethorpe Gallery but did not see any of his work which was disappointing. We dined at V-note for lunch where I enjoyed a Soy Bacon Cheeseburger and Sparky had a plate of french fries.
One of my goals for 2013 is to eat healthier and cook more. Tonight I made a sweet potato and lentil stew that I got from Alicia Silverstone's book The Kind Diet. I added 16 times the amount of cayenne then the recipe called for but I wanted it to have more flavor then the last time I made it. In retrospect I should have added 1/8 of a teaspoon at a time. I quickly realized that was too much spice and through searching on-line found that lemon could cut down on some of the heat. It's still very spicy so I ate it with brown rice and bread.
While looking for Urban Decay lipstick at Sephora I discovered another brand of vegan makeup called Tarte. I highly recommend it as it is long-lasting and goes on smooth.
