Attempting to be Vegan in Canada

Finally, I got to take a vacation. For the first part of my vacation I went to Vancouver, British Columbia for 6 days. The trip started off right as I had sushi for dinner the first night. My second day out of the country I went to the Vancouver Art Museum to see the surrealist exhibit, had a veggie dog from a street vendor, and went on a tire swing for the first time in my life.  I went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge on the third day which was a very cool experience that I'm glad I had.  I also walked around Gastown where I discovered two artists that I found their work to be similar and interesting; Megan Mejewski and Angelina Wrona. My aunt said that their artwork reminded her of James and The Giant Peach. For dinner I had a veggie burger with french fries where they put mayonnaise on the burger equaling my first failed attempt at being vegan while in Canada. As it rained on the fourth day I went to the Aquarium. I was slightly disappointed that I didn’t get to explore Stanley Park due to the weather, however, the rain cleared at night and I went to Yaletown. I had chips and guacamole for dinner where I experienced my second failed attempt at being vegan because they sprinkled cheese on top of the guacamole. It rained throughout the fifth day and I walked to a local restaurant where I ordered falafel for lunch. I discovered a store called Lush that I immediately fell in love with on my last day in Vancouver. All of their products are vegetarian and most are vegan. I purchased a moisturizing massage bar that smells like peaches and lemongrass and a bubble bath bar that smells like black currant. To make my world an even better place there is one in Philadelphia and one is supposed to soon open in King of Prussia. For lunch at Red Burrito I asked if the rice was vegetarian and the staff informed me that it was made with chicken broth. Two failed attempts at being vegan two days in a row made it really sink in that I need to ask questions and be very specific when ordering food.
