Attempting to be Vegan in New Jersey

The Pop Shop (729 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108) offers not only a nostalgic experience but also a few vegan items. There menu has a vegetarian section and several vegan items are specifically marked. I ordered the chipotle veggie burger and asked for it to be made completely vegan as they have vegan mayo, vegan cheese, and baguettes. They brought out my order with a side of non-vegan chipotle mayo which they happily took back. They also have chocolate and vanilla vegan ice cream on their dessert menu. While Sparky and I enjoyed our meals, four people under the age of 16 celebrated their birthdays. The restaurant is small enough that when the wait staff announces somebody's birthday all of the patrons are aware. It's a cute place that I would definitely like to return to. Perhaps I will celebrate my last birthday of my 20's there.
