I also had the recent pleasure of introducing my mother to Indian food. Taj-India is a 100% vegetarian restaurant located at 10863 Bustleton Avenue in Philadelphia. All of the vegan items are clearly labeled on the menu and there are plenty to choose from. Unfortunately none of the dosas are vegan because they are made with yogurt. We went their twice and I enjoyed everything I ordered which included the tomato soup, sweet corn soup, somasos, tofu curry, and aloo paratha.

Attempting to be Vegan When Watching Harold and Maude
Since it was a warm winter's day with a high of 39 degrees, I felt that called for some ice cream. I had been looking for an excuse to go to Little Baby’s Ice Cream which is located at 2311 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia. I was able to walk there from a friends house in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia. They had four vegan flavors on their menu and I ended up with a scoop of speculoos. Their website is deceiving as many more flavors are listed than what the shop actually had. The ice cream tasted like it was coconut milk based and I prefer soy or almond milk. I would go back there again though. Pizza Brain is located next door and they can make pizza with daiya cheese. Neutral Milk Hotel even ordered pizza from their. After getting ice cream I introduced my friend and reintroduced his roommates to Harold and Maude. I Love Cat Stevens!
